FREE GATE DESIGN FIRST
(click here). It is quick and easy! If you like your
design and want
to proceed, we'll send you an invoice with real-time UPS pricing,
and you can skip the order form!
Customers faxing their orders will have their design e-mailed
to them within one business day (for faxes received prior to
4pm EST) for their approval,
modification, or cancellation. Once you receive your design by
e-mail, simply tell us to "build your gate" and your order will go
into our build queue. Our carpenters build to your design diagram (see
a sample here), so review it carefully, as it can be amended if
minor adjustments are needed. Your card is not charged until you
tell us to "build your gate" and we start cutting parts for it.
Order forms should be faxed to 443-926-9310 (or 202-478-1743 is an
alternate fax). Both faxes go to our design desk, and are available
only to our business staff. Shipping costs shown are effective as of
October, 2009. We ship UPS ground to the continental US only.
Customers seeking a freestanding gate or tall gate must request a
design form first due to the number of variables that may affect
your design. This form is for MISSION, CLASSIC, CAT ESCAPE, and
BEADBOARD GATES only in both one and two door styles.
Assume that you are looking at your new gate in its final
destination, and are standing in a location such that the
gate will push away from you, so you may pass through it.

$ __________
What is the width of the gate opening? (Do not measure
between baseboards if present, measure above them.)
________ inches
The width of your gate should be the gate opening width
in inches, minus 3/4" for each wall plank, minus another
3/4" for margin for the hinges and room to swing.
For
example, a gate going into a 34" doorframe requires no
planks, and should be 34 - 3/4 = 33 1/4" in width.
A gate
going into a 38" passageway made of drywall on each side has
two planks, and should be of width 38 - 3/4 -3/4 - 3/4, or
35 3/4 inches.
A gate going between a post and a plaster
wall at the top of your stairs in which there is an
opening of 32 inches requires only one plank. Thus, the
stair gate would be 32 - 3/4 (for the plank) - 3/4 (for
margin) or 30 1/2 inches.

Does your gate width exceed 42"? If so, please select double

How high do you want the top of the handrail above the floor
(or tread if mounted on a step)?
__________ inches (H)
How far off the floor will you mount the gate (2 1/2" is
standard if using our caster)?
__________ inches (F)
Compute the height of your gate = H - F
__________ inches
For example, if you want the handrail 32" above the floor,
and plan to mount the footrail so it is 2 1/2" above the
floor, then your gate height is 32 - 2 1/2 = 29 1/2".
Note:
it is not necessary to use our caster, but we provide it in
case you have children or large dogs who may place their
weight on the gate. Casters help prevent wear-n-tear on the
hinges over time.
Using the price chart below, look up the BASE price of your
gate based on width and height. Mission gates are our least
